On the 24th of April 1883 Ludwig II. declared Bad Kissingen to a health resort. In 1901 the Russian church was inaugurated, one year after that the second synagogue was built and in 1909 the well “Luitpoldsprudel” was constructed. Furthermore the new Kurtheater (1904-1905), the Wandelhalle and Brunnenhalle (1910-1911) and the Regentenbau (1912-1913) were built under prince regent Luitpold of Bavaria and according to the plans of architect Max Littmann. Under concert master Alexander Eichhorn the Kurochester Bad Kissingen boasted a large and demanding repertoire and let Strauss, Wagner, Rossini, Weber, Brahms and Mozart ring through the city.
Now in 2021 the cycle closes with a remembrance to the past. Where else could an event like this take place other than in Bad Kissingen, a monument of that time which endures to this day?
We´re looking forward to unforgettable moments and grand music at the Kissinger Sommer Festival.
