Behind mundane notes lurks insanity. Recently he has demonstrated that unsettling moments and sheer drops suddenly appear at the end of pleasant passages to startle us. Now Daniil Trifonov is approaching the works of Robert Schumann to show us that his piano concerto holds that same quantum of disturbance in store for us.
