Piotr Iljitsch Tschaikowsky: concerto for violin and orchestra D major op. 35
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakow: „Шехераза́да“ („Sheherazade“) Symphonic Suite op. 35

Scheherazade, who has been wed to the women-murdering Persian king Scharyâr, saves her life through fairy tales. Over the course of 1001 nights, her husband's curiosity is so immense that instead of a murder at the end, there is a happy end. Thus was the collection of fairy tales „1001 Nights“ created and composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakow turned it into a symphonic suite. These four orchestral images rank the greatest hits of classical music!
