Beethoven Metamorphosis 5

Beethoven Metamorphosis 5 18/07/2020 - 10:00 PM
Rossini-Saal

Ragnhild Hemsing violin
Tor Espen Aspaas piano

Ludwig van Beethoven: sonata for violin and piano No. 1 Dmajor op. 12/1;
Sonata for violin and piano No. 9 Amajor op. 47 („Kreutzer-Sonate“)
Traditional: „Rotneimsknut“ and „Myllargutens Hochzeitsmarsch“
Works by Edvard Grieg

Beethoven and folk music: Even outside of his work on folk music, Beethoven was influenced by Eastern European folk dances, such as in his violin sonatas. Norwegian violin virtuoso Torgeir Augundsson (who became known as „Myllarguten“) has in turn influenced composers like Edvard Grieg with his traditional works. In this cleverly constructed programme Reagnhild Hemsing explores these connections and switches between concert violin and hardanger fiddle.

Prices € 30 per concert / € 25 per ticket when buying 3 tickets for Metamorphosis concerts
