Isata Kanneh-Mason debut album “Romance” was released in July 2019 and has had both critical and commercial success and even made it to No. 1 in the UK classical charts. In the renowned “Gramophone” magazine it was described as “one of the most charming and riveting debut albums”. Isata Kanneh-Mason already a successful concert career during her studies under Joanna MacGregor and Carole Presland at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Some examples of her solo and chamber music performances in England, Europe and the USA include King's Place (London) and the debut of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall, as well as concerts with her siblings, such as cello player Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
Her most important projects currently are performances at the Edinburgh Festival, in the Wigmore Hall, in the Teatro della Pergolla in Florence, in the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and a tour through ten cities in the USA which includes a debut recital in the Carnegie Hall in New York. During the COVID-19 lockdown in England she has performed via live streams with thousands of viewers around the world. Her interpretation of the first movement of Beethoven's piano concerto No. 3 gained more than a million views. At the BBC Young Musician Competition Isata has reached the finale of her category. Following that she has appeared multiple times on TV and the radio, examples include BBC Radio 3 In Tune, South Bank Sky Arts Awards, The Andrew Marr Show, Radio 3 RPS Awards, BBC2 Proms Extra, Al Jazeera TV, BBC World Service and CBS. At the BBC Proms 2019 she acted as presenter. Before that she had completed her undergraduate degree as Elton John Scholar at the Royal Academy and performed together with Elton John in Los Angeles in 2013. Isata Kanneh-Mason is being supported by the Nottingham Soroptimist Trust, Mr and Mrs John Bryden, Frank White and Awards for Young Musicians.
