The 22-year old Ziyu Liu is studying under Professor Arie Vardi at the “Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien” in Hannover. He has won several 1st prize awards at international competitions such as the 1st prize at the 70th Giovan Battista Viotti International Music Competition (2019), the Beethoven Concerto Prize and 1st prize at the 29th Città de Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition (2019) and the 1st prize at the Singapore International Piano Competition (2019). Ziyu Liu has already played at concerts all around the world, for example in Austria, Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, China and Singapore. He performed in important concert venues, including “Elbphilharmonie” in Hamburg, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the “Weimarhalle” in Weimar, the Sota Concert Hall in Singapore, the Shanghai Concert Hall and the Shandong Grand Theatre in China. He performed in solo and orchestra concerts at international festivals such as the Mozart Festival in Salzburg and at music festivals in Weimar and Coburg. Ziyu Liu has performed together with the orchestra of the Teatro “Carlo Felice” in Genova, the Jenaer Philharmonic and the Orchestra Filarmonica “Mihail Jora” in Bacau, among others. Aside from piano music, Ziyu Liu has an interest in books about musical aesthetics, philosophy and literature, he also loves travelling and cooking.
