Having started playing the piano at the age of three, Yoav Levanon now has an impressive record of concerts and prizes at the age of sixteen. His international career began in 2019 with his performance at the renowned Verbier Festival where he appeared as the youngest pianist in the history of the festival and was hailed as a new “discovery”. His debut recital was broadcast all over the world by Medici.TV. Shortly after that he performed works by Bach and Mozart together with the pianist Sergei Babayan at the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia. In the same year he received the Young Talent Award by Excelentia foundation (Madrid) and performed Tchaikovsky's piano concerto No. 1 for the former queen of Spain, Doña Sofia.
For Yoav Levanon 2020 began with a joint concert with Martha Argerich at the Piano Summit on Castle Elmau. During the rest of the year invitations to the Verbier Festival, Riga-Jurmala Festival and Piano Jacobins Festival in Toulouse are planned as well as a his first performance at the Vacouver Symphony Orchestra in Canada and a debut at Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Following his first victory at a competition when he was five years old, he won the gold medal at the International Piano Competition USA a year later where he performed in the Carnegie Hall in New York. At the age of 10 and 11 respectively he received further awards at several competitions.
